How to Seal Gaps Around Your Garage Door to Keep Out Pests
A garage door that does not seal tightly against the floor or walls leaves a wide entry point for cold air, rain, leaves, and pests (such as mice, spiders, and bugs) to enter your home.
Three Best Sealing Products
Seal your garage using these three products:
- Heavy-Duty Bottom Rubber Seal: A rubber channel that slides into the aluminum track on the bottom panel.
- Garage Door Threshold Seal: A heavy vinyl strip glued directly to the concrete floor. This forms a raised barrier that blocks rain runoff and wind drafts.
- Vinyl Side Weatherstripping: Nailed or screwed to the outside frame, sealing the sides and top header of the door.
